Good Food Good Health – Skin Cancer, Solar Keratosis & Sun Damaged Skin
Hello, have you ever heard of solar keratosis?
Many of us rarely think twice about our largest organ – your skin, unless we suffer from skin problems like eczema or tanned. But did you know that by checking only a minute or more, the reality of your body after your daily shower could actually save your life.
While there is more public awareness about the dangers of tanning beds, very few of us really clear how it can affect our health or how to enjoy the sun safely, independently without keratosis.
I even worried about a “place” on my face recently, and since there is only a short time before a family vacation, I made an appointment with my GP for when we came back, and I was really down to earth with a thud, when he mentions a keratoses – also known as actinic keratosis.
Realistically, I know I should have visited before departure, especially since I the sun designed most of the time but surely – 30 SPF 50 + sun protection for all the moles and areas that are slightly soft, like the shoulders and face in the high thirty degrees, a floppy hat and sunglasses, very high quality.
Eight weeks ago, I noticed what I thought at first was a spot on my cheek. I never really had spots like a teenager when I watched this place grow waits patiently for my time so I can wear it!
After shaking the place where he suddenly red and angry, I hate to touch and it took several days to heal, sent this to my little gray cells to work overtime, even though I knew it was not all look the pictures of skin cancer, I had seen, I was a little worried.
When it was healed over very high and strange shape that several people mentioned, but it was not black – he was very white and very dry and had excitedly – I ignored it.
Although it has never bothered me, subconsciously my fingers would not let him alone. On vacation, I thought it was completely covered with sunscreen as with all of my moles, but again I’ve accidentally on the head, and he heals more than it was before.
Those who never smoked or taken drugs – by prescription only, eat well and drink very little regard me as with a healthy lifestyle, but my sunbathing habits – especially in my youth that risk.
Soak up the sun, most of us feel good factor, and a bit of sunshine per day is good for us because it can improve the body to produce vitamin D in the skin.
Very few of us are aware of the damage can worship the sun. SK or keratosis is a skin condition that more often, but rarely known. This condition is not treated can lead to skin cancer from.
The British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) said recently that have increased despite years of warnings and advertising, half of Britons would not recognize the signs of skin cancer as possible and fourth never checked their skin for the disease.
Australia is often considered the capital of skin cancer, but the fact is that skin cancer account for one third of all cancers in the United Kingdom, and the mortality rate in the United Kingdom and a half higher than their own, this fact should be set only in perspective and really drive home the danger that can happen.
Keratosis is not skin cancer but an indicator of sun damage, can go to and including 1 in 10, to develop into cancer. According to the American Academy of Dermatology 40 percent of all squamous cell carcinomas begin SKS.
Caught early, squamous cell carcinomas are treatable, but the consequences can be devastating if not treated spread to other parts of the body.
Regular checks of the body are very important not only for the moles, but no changes or unusual marks on the skin. Your doctor or practice nurse should be consulted if you have any concerns and hosting regular inspections in order to prevent that SKS untreated and transform itself into something potentially dangerous.
The treatment ranges from keratosis creams to prevent freezing and scraping off the lesion.
SKS have are usually on the scalp, neck, face, ears, lips, back and forearms, and women and the lower half of the legs, but can be found, in fact, n ‘anywhere on the body.
Sun damage accumulates over time, it is a lifetime of sun exposure that risk experts say, not just isolated to the past or tan.
Many people do not realize that also make the skin on cloudy days with UVA and UVB rays that cause skin lesions, so sunscreen daily to reduce any risk.
Keratosis is a response to exposure to the sun, especially if you’re young, it changes shape, size, structure and organization of cells in our skin, and may in the size of a pin head of an inch in diameter.
The texture is dry and rough lesions, and thus often be recognized by touch rather than sight first. The area can also be tender or itchy and Barbary, especially after being in the sun.
Once the keratosis was treated with success, regular checks and inspections are recommended, the condition to keep under control.
Skin types may also determine the level of risk – has fair skin and burns less protective pigment, therefore lighter, so that the red hair and blondes have more in danger in the sun with blue, green or gray eyes, people.
People with darker skin or olive oil should not assume that they are not in danger either, because this type of skin can be sensitive to prolonged exposure
In addition, to recognize people, solar keratosis is not just a female problem, many men still believe they do not need to use sun protection because they are either working, whole year, “used” on outside, and are in the sun or find it not “cool” and it is a health issue that needs to be addressed and sunscreen should be part of our normal daily routine.
There is a higher risk for keratosis with people who have a weakened immune system, or by poor health or poor nutrition habits, so good for a healthy diet is always a must.

Avoid the sun, when most – from 10.00 bis 04.00 clock, wear clothes, arms and legs and a wide-brimmed hat covered, use sunscreen of at least SPF 15 or higher liberally and again every 2 hours.
I consider myself very lucky this time as a “place” has nothing to fear, pulled my GP for me and insisted that I regularly at other places like that, and it would have been better to have 110% asked for advice before my vacation and not with haste!
I am completely myself and knew that his advice was correct, but I chose to ignore my conscience, and that’s what we all have to change. So many people are in the sun day after day with little protection and may well be aware of the dangers, but choose to ignore the consequences until it’s too late, so make sure you and your family to enjoy the sun safe.
I took this advice on board, I know it embarrassed my family, that there is no way that I do them for a while, would have to wait before they seek medical advice at all – 100 percent true. They say I’m a stickler for sunbathing and safe this only for my lectures on fuel!
Girl insulted me about it, but I would drill it home with them to show them the dangers of tanning beds, because we are still healthier than we are perceived brown. It is much cheaper and safer to get a tan from a bottle and with new products, it looks like the real thing, when peeled off the skin is properly applied.
So remember ‘good food for good health “is the best way to keep your body working like a clock and a diet from a variety of nutritious foods of good put together you are all the vitamins and minerals you need your skin in tip top condition to . keep
So be sure to enjoy the early detection of changes in the skin and the sun certainly is the best protection against solar keratoses.
